Mazak Optonics Corporation: Overview

  Mazak Laser Corporation is a unique joint venture between two of the world’s largest  corporations; Sojitz and Yamazaki Mazak Corporation.  Sojitz, being a global trading company, brings their sales, marketing and distribution expertise to the table and Yamazaki Mazak (founded in 1919) arguably the world’s largest manufacturer of precision machine tools, provides the manufacturing muscle.

  Together, since 1987, they have teamed up to provide the industry with the widest range of precision cutting lasers in the world.  The precision machining pedigree that Yamazaki Mazak has allows them to offer the highest precision lasers in the market place, with positioning accuracy on many models of +/- 0.0002” ! ……….. Unequaled by anyone else in the industry.  This gives our Mazak customers the ability to, in turn, offer the most accurate parts to their customers.

  Currently, Mazak Laser Corporation offers the widest range of precision lasers in the industry to process steel, aluminum, stainless steel and other materials from paper thin stock to 1” material thickness, including:

  --- 2D Lasers (flat sheet lasers) in sheet sizes of 4’x 4’, 4’x 8’, 5’x 10’ and 6’x 12’

--- 3D Lasers with full articulating heads that allows us to access all 5 sides of prismatic   parts (and any angle in between) with full contour cutting capabilities.  Offered in             4’x 4’, 4’x 8’, and 5’x 10’. 

---  Tube cutting lasers, that processes tubing (square, round, rectangular) as well as all  types of structural materials (angle iron, u-channel, I-beams, etc.

  1)      Hypergear – our newest 2D flat sheet laser with either 2500 or 4000 watt resonators, features the latest linear drive technology (in all axis) that totally eliminates the traditional mechanical positioning devices of rack-and-pinion and ballscrew drives used typically in the industry.
